We flew home from Utah the day before Brig's 2nd birthday, that way he was still free! :) We are cheap!! It was good to be home, Brigham was needing to run, run, and run! And he can finally do that! He had a great birthday, he climbed out of his crib for the first time, came out and saw his train table and freaked!! He loves it!! I got him a ding dong and a huge balloon for his bday. We are having a friend party this Friday, so I'll post some more pics.

Christmas/ 2nd birthday in Utah

So after outr trips to California/Washington, we were hoe for 2 weeks then headed up to Utah for a week. We had a Christmas/birthday party at my dads house, and Brigham got spoiled by papa, and grandma!! He got every kind of car you could imagine, plus 3 tracks to use them on!!

Well it seems like we no longer live in AZ!! We were out of AZ for most of the last 2 months! It was fun, but it's so much better just to be home!

Vancouver/Halloween 2011

October was an exciting month for us. We got to tag along with Mikey up to Washington. He took a customer golfing at Bandon Dunes, Oregon so we flew into Portland and Brigham and I stayed a few days with his parents while he golfed. We had a great time! Brigham loves his grandparents and cousins!! For Halloween we didnt do too much, just went to our wards trunk-or-treat. I wasnt planning on having Brigham go around and get candy, since I would be the one eating most of it anyways :) I did take him to some of our friends trunks, but he was more interested in shooting hoops! There was a couple who had a small basketball hoop in their trunk, the kids would have to make a shot to get candy. I couldn't get him away from that car! He had a blast!

Bullies

So lately there have been a ton of stories about bullying, it got me thinking about my own experience with bullies. I have been made fun of my entire life! Mostly for things I couldn't change. I had ears that stuck out, I remember going to Wild Waters every summer and felt so nervous every time, I was in the hottub when I was about 6 or 7 years old, there were some teenage girls there laughing at me and asking if I could "fly with those things" meaning my ears! Most of the kids at school would make fun of them too, I acted like it didn't bother me. I became the "tough" girl and would beat up the boys that would make fun of me. Even though I acted like it didn't bother me it was absolutely horrible!! I would do everything possible to never have to put my hair up in ponytails, but once I started playing sports I had to pull it up. Again, I got made fun of all the time! So in 7th grade I got sick of it, and so did my parents, and they allowed me to have surgery to pin my ears back. Isn't that sad that an 11 year old feels like she has to have plastic surgery to fit in?? I'm glad I did it, Mikey says he thought I looked cute and would have likely grown into them, but who knows? I was called "dumbo" "dopey" "big ears" To this day I still have never watched the movie "dumbo" for that reason :)
Another thing I have always been bullied for is my height. I am 5'9" and was extremely skinny back in the day! I guess that's tall for a girl? HAHA!! at least I was able to find a guy that was 6'5"!
As some of you might know I have a disorder called trichotilomania, basically I pull out my hair. It's hard to explain to people but it basically feels like there's pressure in my head (or wherever I'm pulling the hair out) and once I pull the hair out the pressure gets released. It started in Jr. High and got to the point where I had no eyebrows, no eyelashes and huge bald spots all over my head. I seriously thought I was crazy so I never told anybody what I was doing to myself. I was made fun of for being bald, girls on my volleyball team in high school called me "spot" Finally I think it was my sophomore year in HS that I saw "Dateline" and they were talking about trichotilomania!! I realized I wasn't the only one doing this, and so I finally told my mom and it got so much better. I still struggle with it every now and then, I notice it happens more when I'm stressed.
Anther thing people made fun of was my HUGE eyes! They called me FROG! It's funny cuz now my most favorite thing about me are my eyes!
I guess the reason I'm writing this post is to vent? I don't understand how anybody can be so mean to people just because of their looks? I admit I do judge people and make fun, but NEVER to their face! Not saying thats any better. I guess another reason of writing this is to let people know it does get better! I NEVER thought anybody would want to marry me, after years and years of people telling you you're not good enough you start to believe it. I believe I have found the BEST guy for me! He loves me no matter what I look like, and he thinks I'm beautiful! CRAZY I know :)
I just wish people would realize we are all children of God and He doesn't make mistakes, we are all beautiful!
I don't know why I had so many trials in my life, maybe it's to help other people when they're being bullied, maybe its for me to feel empathy for others? All I know is I hope Brigham never has to deal with what I did! To me he is perfect!
I am going to try to be nicer to people and not make fun, and I hope you will all do the same!

Grandpa Woodruff

A couple weeks ago Brigham and I drove up to Utah to say goodbye to my grandpa Woodruff. He has cancer basically all over his body, he's been in a hospice center for over a month, hasn't eaten since he's been there, can't walk, and is in so much pain. I wasn't sure if I wanted to see him like that but I'm glad we were able to see him! He recognized me, he said "well if it isn't Lindsey Kay" :) That made me so happy!! He always calls me Lindsey Kay, I was named after my grandma Woodruff (Kay) He was in and out of sleep and would start talking in German, then he asked Tanner which part of Germany he was from. He served in the war and was on a baseball team over in Germany, so he must be getting flashbacks. It was so sad to see him like that, I just wish he wasn't in any pain! His new wife Dawn has done so much for him! She was there when we visited and remembered all our names, very impressive! When it was time for us to leave everyone broke down! Including my grandpa! That was the hardest part! He says he isnt scared of dying, but I can only imagine how you must think "Have I done enough" when you're that close to death. We will miss him, but look forward to seeing him again. I cant believe I didn't get a picture with him! I was too worried about keeping Brigham quiet I didnt even think about it :(

Swam a few days with cousins, and just hung out. Brigham sure loves his cousins! Especially TANNER!! He just takes one look at him and cracks up! :)

On our way home I couldnt keep my eyes open (which never happens) so decided to pull off in Beaver, UT and take a nap, it seemed like our trip just kept getting delayed. I can't help but think it was Heavenly Father's way of keeping us safe. I wonder how many times things that seem like a burden actually keep us from getting in a wreck or something. Remember to always be thankful!

We had a great time, I was sooo glad to get home.

Thanks to my dad for letting us crash in your apartment and destroy almost everything :)

They're BAAAACK! part 1

Steve and Joann left last August to go on a mission to Nauvoo, IL. They kept busy and did a great job! They came back on August 13th. Before we got rid of Lucy we were planning on flying up there on the 16th, but because we didn't have to worry about having somebody dogsit Brigham and I flew up on the 8th to spend the week with Rebecca and her family, and also surprise Steve and Joann.
Brigham had an absolute blast being with all his cousins! I think they loved him too :) He wanted to do everything all the big kids were doing...including jumping off the diving board!!
When everyone went to the airport to pick them up Mikey, Brigham and I stayed at the house to surprise them there. It was awesome! The most awesome experience though was when Heidi (their 12 yr old dog) saw Joann for the first time. She had been very sick and not eating for about 3 days before they got home. She was slow and moping around the house, until she saw Joann...she lit up! It was awesome!! Sadly, a few days later they decided to put Heidi down. She had lived a very long life and it was tough to see her in so much pain and not herself. It was a sad day for all of us, even me (she never really liked me :))
We all rented a house down in Seaside, OR and spent a couple nights there. It was AMAZING!!! about 80 ft from the beach and just gorgeous! The sand was perfect and so was the weather. Of course Brigham does not like the feel of sand but he did ok.
We decided to stay a few days longer so we could spend some one on one time with Mikey's parents, so glad we did! It was a great trip and Brigham sure misses the constant entertainment! OOOOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOO :)

WARNING: picture overload! When you get 4 Sorensen families together it spells big trouble!! All of us each have our own camera and take pictures EVERYWHERE!! and of EVERYTHING!!! So these are just a small taste of what I have, these are all from Rebecca's camera and there are still more to come! They are totally out of order but oh well!

Goodbye Lucy

So we decided to get rid of Lucy about a month ago, luckily Mikey's brother and his family were looking to get another dog. We shipped her out to them in Pittsburgh, and they absolutely love her! It was tough saying bye to her, but it's the best thing for our family.

Utah trip July 2011

It has been a LONG time since I last posted, we have been extremely busy too!
The beginning of July I decided to take Brigham with me up to Utah to visit my family. We stopped in St. George and split up the drive. All I can say is thank heaven for DVD players in cars!! Best invention EVER!! Brigham did fantastic! He also discovered that he loves hotel rooms! Just like mama, everything was at his level, the microwave, fridge, TV, A/C...he loved it! He kept putting his water cup in the microwave and then taking it out and doing it over and over. We went to the St. George temple (it's one of my favorites) and walked around, he had a blast looking at all the beautiful flowers and climbing up the huge steps in the front. The first part of the trip we stayed with my mom, it had been almost 10 months since they have seen Brigham so it was a huge shocker to them how big he has gotten. He loved looking for the kitties and has no fear when it comes to the crazy cat! She would swipe at him and hiss and it didn't bother him at all. He also loves his cousins! Especially all their toys :) They have so many cars, and balls and just plain BOY toys! Any time we were outside he would grab any type of ball and run to the basketball hoop yelling "dunk, dunk". We ended up going to the zoo with my mom, Tiffany and her kids. It was soooo fun! I hadn't been to the Hogle Zoo in years and it was awesome! We saw all the animals and even rode the "choo choo".
The last part of the trip I spent at my dads apartment in SLC. We went swimming right when we got there and Brigham wanted nothing to do with it! He was literally shaking. So instead he and grandpa played basketball. He would run down the court and every time he would pass me would give me a high five. We went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner and Brigham had 3 pieces of pizza!!! Thats my boy! The next day Tiffany brought the kids to swim and we finally got Brigham in, grandpa had to basically drag him in but we did it. Then we headed back down to St. George and finally home.

Brigham and I both got haircuts within the last couple weeks. Brigham was looking more and more like a girl/orphan, so we decided to kind of buzz it.

This is my new haircut, I cut off a ton of hair! But I was ready for the change, I only have a picture of the back and it was way messy! Thanks to the wonderful Prescott Valley constant wind! Don't know why I even do my hair anymore!

Brigham has loved to dance his whole life it seems. I have tried and tried to get it on video, but every time I do he sees the camera and tries to grab it!! Made me so mad! I finally got one the other day, and it is the BEST VIDEO EVER!! At least I think so!Now those of you who have had the privilege of seeing Mikey dance :) know that he definitely got his moves from daddy.

Here's an update on what we have been up to. We sold out Tahoe and bought a Lexus RX 2 weeks ago, we absolutely love it and got it for a great deal! Mikey got called to be the ward clerk last week and is a little stressed. I got to go on a little getaway to Oregon/Washington last week and it was fantastic! Relaxed at the beach, went shopping, got dental work done, and helped out with Lisa's show. It was an awesome week but nice to finally be home. I missed my boys very much!! I had 2 crowns put on, gum reconstruction (he cut away my gums) and a filling. My mouth hurts soooo bad!! It's not going to stop any time soon cuz in about 2 weeks I get my braces!! YAY!!!

About a month and a half ago I asked our Primary President if we could take Brigham into nursery and she said yes, he was 3 months early but he is doing great! It's a huge help to me and Mikey too. He is growing up so fast and getting the cutest little personality. His new favorite show is Barney!! I used to watch it when I was little so it's kind of fun to sing the songs again. He dances, and laughs, and just enjoys watching it over and over. He has recently discovered that he loves cars. He has a few toy cars and plays with them constantly! Here are some of the words/phrases he can say: more please, it's Lucy/daddy/barney/mama, love you, Lucy out, outside, car, ball, mama, daddy, bye bye, hi, hair, eyes, ears, belly, button, uh-oh, dunk, football, baby, ducky, wuack, doggy ruff ruff, meow, kitty, tweet, bear, roar, monkey, anyways those are then ones I can think of off the top of my head. He is a smart, funny kid. He loves to throw things away in the garbage and pull out all the tupperware from my kitchen drawers :)

Lucy has started puppy training! YAY!! She has learned how to sit and stay. It's amazing to me how smart she is, now I just wish she would stop teething! She chews on everything, even got Brigham's cheek today. I was not very happy with that!

We are finally starting to get grass in our backyard!! I can't wait til we can actually walk on it, Lucy and Brigham are going to love it!!

Steve gave us this BYU football that played the Cougar fight song when you threw it. Ever since Brigham was little he HATED it! It scared him half to death, until a few weeks ago. Now he loves it and Lucy HATES it! I got this video of him dancing, its not his best dancing or the best quality since its from my phone, but its so cute!!

I'm going to make a confession...we aren't the best at saying prayers as a family, we usually say dinner prayers and pray before Mikey leaves on a trip. Little did we know that Brigham really is paying attention. About 2 weeks ago Brigham and I sat down for lunch, before I could get any food in his mouth he folded his arms and started jabbering!! Ever since then he does it all the time!! We went to Ihop the other day and he was doing it there :) It was just a little reminder that even though he is only 14 months old he is watching, and noticing what we are doing. He is a special little boy and teaches me new things every day.

I'm a horrible person!!

So today I went to lunch with a friend. I put Lucy in our laundry room and left. 2 hours later returned and Lucy was stuck in a cord behind the dryer, it was wrapped around her belly pretty darn tight! She had pooped all over herself and was bleeding. I freaked out!! I didnt know what to do, finally I calmed down enough to grab her neck and start twisting her to get her untangled. I knew something was wrong, she wasn't walking at all. I got Brigham in the car again and sped towards the vet's office. What is normally a 20 minute drive I turned it into a 5 minute drive! They took her back and the dr. said she had feeling in her legs and that her back wasnt broken, they needed to keep her there for a few hours to massage her legs and make sure she starts walking again.

All I could think about (and still think about) is how long she was there, and if I wouldnt have chatted for so long with my friend would it have been better? I feel so bad, she looked at me and was so scared and in so much pain, I felt soooo bad!

The dr called and gave me good news, she was walking on her own, but had a little bit of bloody discharge. They gave her a few medications and sent her home. She definitely isn't her normal self. Hopefully she gets back to normal, and starts driving me nuts again with her energy :)

So we have been looking for a puppy for a while now, not real seriously until a few weeks ago. We were looking at mini australian shepherds and beagles. We have been trying to find a breeder close to us or in WA or Oregon so we could pick it up when we visit family. I found a breeder from the Reno area who travels a lot. She had a couple cute female puppies we were interested in. One was hyper and nuts, and the other the total opposite. Since this is my first dog, and as anybody who knows me knows I am TERRIFIED of dogs, we decided to go with a smaller, more calm dog. I'm hoping this will be a good thing for me and help me get over my fear of dogs. Anyways the breeder was planning a trip down to Vegas this weekend and said she could bring the puppy! So Mikey is going to drive there for work tomorrow and then pick her up!! We are so excited! Brigham is going to be in heaven! Now I have to train her! AAAHHH!

Anyways here she is! SOOO cute! She will get up to about 14 inches and probably 20 pounds

Well Brigham and I just got back from Orlando, Mikey stayed there for a "work" conference :) He played golf today and will play again tomorrow, then its off to work.
We left last Sunday, and boy was it an exciting flight!! Brigham hadn't flown for a while, and definitely not since he learned how to walk. He did not want to sit on our laps! But 4 hours later we made it! I love Orlando! We rented a condo through Joann's timeshare thing (which was awesome) It was 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a full kitchen! We were going to share it with Mikey's co-worker/friend and his 5 kids but they decided to get their own condo, which worked out great! The night we got there Brigham decided he didnt want to go to sleep til midnight!! I had to rock him to sleep! We have been so blessed to have him be such a good sleeper! I need to keep reminding myself that. We were planning on hitting Disneyworld the next day, but Brigham slept for 7 hours and was up!! He usually sleeps 12-13 hours. We relaxed around the condo, bought tickets, and bought him a pack and play. we figured he doesnt like hotel cribs :) Such a diva!
That night Trevor (coworker) and his family came over for dinner and swimming. We had a blast! The kids loved the pool! The next day we got up bright and early and headed to Magic Kingdom, which was probably my favorite of the parks. The kids were so excited, Brigham loved seeing all the parades and rides, and the adults had a great time too. I wasn't feeling very good so I usually stayed with Brigham while they went on rides, but I did get to ride Splash Mountain and Dumbo!! Oh and It's a Small World, thats a classic!
Tuesday we went to Universal Studios, mostly just for the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. I'm not a huge fan but the town was awesome!! Went on a couple rides there and I was DONE!
After those 2 days with Trevor and his family we went our separate ways, we hit Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Epcot is awesome, but Hollywood Studios was kind of lame!
Friday we relaxed again, caught up on sleep and ate at the lake by the condo.
Saturday we went to Animal Kingdom! I was sure Brigham was going to love this one, we went on the Safari and what does he do? Falls asleep for the whole ride! Silly kid!
Sunday Brigham and I flew home, since the first flight was not very pleasant we decided to use one of our free flights and get Brigham a seat, he did SO much better! We had 2 flights and on both he took a nap and was a happy boy. We had a great week but we were both ready to get home! When we got home Brigham ran straight to his favorite toy, his new car! He just missed his toys.
Some other news...I found out about 2 weeks ago that I have hyperthyroidism. That explains the 40 pound weight loss, dizziness, heart pounding, muscle weakness, and fatigue. Thats the main reason I wasn't able to ride as any rides. They have me on all sorts of medication that has made my symptoms even worse. I go in to do a thyroid scan this Thursday to see where the problem is centrally located and from there they will be treating it with radioactive iodine! Sounds scary! I willl keep everyone posted on how the scan goes.

Brigham's first birthday and Christmas

We made it a whole year!! YAY! I can't believe how fast it went! Brig is such a cute little guy!! He learned how to say santa last week, just in time for Christmas. We had a pretty relaxed party for him, had him open presents, eat a cupcake and just hung out. He wasn't really into opening presents or eating the cupcake so I shoved some in his face :)
For Christmas we headed down to David's house in Phoenix and spent the night there with 2 of Mike's brothers. We had a great time! Dave has 2 dogs and James has 2 dogs, so Brigham was in HEAVEN!! He would sit on the ground and Dave's dogs would run by him and lick his face and Brigham would crack up!! It made me sooo nervous but he had a great time!
Brig got a few pairs of pajamas and a ton of toys!
Mikey got some new jeans, a shirt, some outdoor speakers, and some grill tools.
I got a down comforter, a kinect for the xbox, a puzzle (it's soooo hard!!), 2 purses, a wallet, and a book Mikey made of Brighams first year, it almost made me cry! I had to hold back the tears cuz I was around Mike's family :)

Well it's been a long time since I last posted, November was a crazy month for us. We celebrated our 3 year anniversary, I had a couple of procedures done, "someone" killed my car :) We bought a new truck, I went on my first vacation without Brigham, Brigham is getting 3 new teeth (1 molar by the way) right now, and he took 3 steps yesterday! He is growing up so fast! I can't believe he is almost 1!
The 18th I had wave lithotripsy done to get rid of a stupid kidney stone that wouldn't go away. Everything went well and I passed it easily and had very little pain.
The 30th was our 3 year anniversary, so we decided to go down to Phoenix and do a session at the Mesa temple. We dropped Brigham off at Pete and Angie's place and went to the temple. Of course he cried the whole time...sorry Ang! They even kept him overnight so we could enjoy a night in a hotel. We had a sweet hotel room, too bad we didn't stay there too long, I had to wake up at 4:00 the next morning to fly up to Portland. I got there, luckily I didn't die on the FREEZING plane! Sarah picked me up and took me to get Steve's car to drive to all my appts. I had a root canal done that afternoon and that went great! Steve recommended I go up there to a great endodontist and I am glad I did! He said my roots were so twisted it was going to be pretty difficult, but he did it and I feel great. The next day I had an appt with Mike's uncle who is a dentist to go over all the stuff I need to get done, I didn't know my teeth were that bad. :( After that I headed up to James and Lisa's house to help out with Lisa's Christmas show, she sells so many awesome things! I think she was getting sick of me finding things I liked and buying them (since they have to load them up and drive them to AZ for us) We bought an armoire, a table, a cute sign, and a little snowman decoration thing, he is soooo cute!! She did an awesome job and it was so fun to help out with the show. I had a rough time being away from Brigham, but it was definitely needed.
Brigham is sick right now, not sure if it's from teething or not, but he isnt sleeping very well and is not himself, although I still think he is the cutest thing in the world still.
Because I am so sick of getting kidney stones I have stopped drinking as much pop as I used to, and surprise surprise I have lost 26 pounds!!! WOW!!

Today I watched Oprah, Marie Osmond was on there talking about her son who committed suicide earlier this year. I normally don't watch Oprah but wanted to see what Marie would say. I couldn't stop crying, and am crying right now as I write this. I don't know if it's because I have a son of my own or what but it really hit home. Having battled depression all my life, and more now than ever, I just know how it feels to get to the lowest point in life and I feel for their family. She said one thing that hit me hard and that was 'tell your kids they aren't a burden in your life' her son felt like he was a burden and wanted to get rid of that for her. I know I get frustrated with Brigham but I love him more than anything in this world and don't know what I would do if anything happened to him. I hope he doesn't ever have to go through depression like I do and hope he is a happy, healthy boy.
I know that we are given these trials to help us and if anything ever does happen to Brigham I know we are sealed and we will always be a family. I can't imagine going through life not knowing about eternal families and that you will see your loved ones when we die. I'm so grateful I have that knowledge.
Everybody please give your kids an extra hug tonight!

Halloween

Happy Halloween! Last night we went to our ward party/trunk-or-treat and it was so much fun! Other than being colder than heck and extremely windy! All the kids looked adorable dressed up, but I have to say I think Brigham was by far the cutest! And Mikey was by far the geekiest! He dressed up as Iron man with a white T-shirt with the letters "Fe" written on it. LAME! Anyways a ton of people showed up and we lasted almost the whole time until we got rid of the candy we wanted to :) We didnt take Brigham around to get candy since he only has like 3 and a half teeth and that means mom would be eating most of the candy...which I dont need!! By the way I have lost 19 pounds!! WOO WOO!! Almost half way there!

The last couple weeks have been horrible! All of us have had a cold, Brigham and I still have it, Mikey has been out of town a little more than normal, and I have 2 kidney stones! I had to go to the E.R. one day he was gone, I couldnt sleep and I basically couldnt do anything. I was getting nauseous and dizzy and thats not good when you are home alone with a 10 month old! So I dropped Brigham off at a friends house and headed to the E.R. They did a CT scan and found 2 stones, one in my left kidney and one almost to my bladder. The one almost to my bladder was blocking the urine so it was backing up into my kidney and really hurting. That one is 1/4 of an inch! I still havent passed it but it feels so much better (most of the time) Because the reason I get so many stones is the amount of pop I drink I have stopped drinking as much pop and thats how I am losing weight!

Brigham's a crawlin'...forward this time!

So Brigham FINALLY learned how to crawl!! He already knew how to go backwards, and sort of do an army crawl to one side, but within the last couple days he has taught himself how to go forward!! He did it a little on Saturday night, and I totally freaked out and scared him half to death and he fell on his face. So I think he was a little nervous to try it again :) He finally started crawling to the coffee table so he could kneel to it, then a little later I just decided to pull out the video camera and start filming and the video at the bottom is what he did right off the bat! Oh and of course Mikey isnt here to witness it :)
He has also started to want to stand up to EVERYTHING!! Even me when I am on the floor playing with him. He does pretty good kneeling but hasnt quite gotten the muscles developed for pulling himself all the way up. He is getting pretty daring and I dont like it at all! He was kneeling up to the couch and turned around towards the table and tried to stand up and fell backwards and hit his head on the wood on the bottom of the couch, poor kid! Of course he screamed, but hey, he screams when I cough!
He still only has the 3 teeth (1 on bottom and 2 on top) the 2nd bottom one keeps teasing us. he's blabbering a lot more, and singing, and dancing. This kid definitely got my sense of rythm! He has also learned how to entertain himself for more than 5 minutes! YAY for me! He is such a good kid and we are so blessed to have him in our lives!

Brigham is 9 months old?!?

On our way home yesterday we took Brigham to his 9 month appt. They said he is doing great! He is 24 lbs 3 oz (90th percentile0, 30.25 inches tall (95th percentile) and 110th percentile on head circumference! HAHA! This last week he has started to get 3 more teeth! He is not a happy camper! The top 2 have finally cut through and the 2nd bottom one is almost there. He is getting to be such a big boy! He has also started to crawl...backwards! HAHA! He gets up on his knees a ton but doesnt realize he can move forward. Today he started to sit from being on his knees. Within the last few weeks he says "a da" when he is done with his bottle. Such a smart boy!

Sealing part 2

Well we finally got sealed!! It was the most amazing 2 days ever! Friday was a busy busy day, we met Steve, Joann, and Sarah at Mr. Mac so Mike could get some temple pants that fit him :) He gained a little weight! HAHA! Then off to lunch and then the girls went to help me with my temple dress. Joann was so nice to buy my dress for me and it was gorgeous! Then back to the house to change and get to the temple for my endowment and oops I left our recommends at my parents house!! I was freaking out!! So I had to book it to Layton to grab them and then head straight to the temple. And of course there was an accident on the way but we made it. My dad met us there to pick up Brigham so he could watch him for the night. I was soo nervous for some reason, I had no idea what to expect and it was the most amazing thing in the world!! I told Mikey after that I want to have that peaceful feeling as much as we can! It was awesome!
Saturday morning came and we headed to the temple around 9:00, we got there and headed right to the nursery where Brigham would be until they had to bring him in for the sealing, it was kinda sad to leave him, but they said he got a little nap in, but not even close to what his normal morning nap it (about 2 hours) so he was not a happy little boy. We went into the sealing room and had some instruction from the sealer and he was definitely inspired. He mentioned some things about being an example to our family, and that this is a brand new start (which helped me out) and that Brigham was a special spirit. Also mentioned some other things that were just amazing! They brought Brigham in and of course he was screaming! Even we couldnt calm him down, until it was his turn to be sealed and all of a sudden he just stopped screaming and got the most heavenly look on his face. He definitely knew what was going on. Right then we all lost it! I dont think there was a dry eye in the whole room.
Satan was definitely working on us before we got sealed, with family issues, stress, traffic etc. it makes you realize how important family is and the temple. Satan really did not want us to get sealed! And we definitely felt that! But that only made me want it even more. It was such an amazing weekend and was so glad to be able to share it with family.

Story of his day

Busy September

Well September has been a somewhat crazy month. I got a new calling at the beginning of the month, instead of being an assistant to the Primary Presidency I am now a Primary teacher for the 5-6 year olds. We just got a new Presidency and they realized they didnt need an assistant! WOO! My class is great! We have been practicing for the primary program, which is today, for the last 2 weeks and today will be my first official lesson. Wish me luck! Out of all the classes in the primary this one is by far the best!
Our sealing is getting so close...less than 2 weeks away. We have it scheduled still at the Bountiful Temple but for a few days we were seriously considering moving it to Nauvoo. I'm hoping everything works out well.
We just got back from a little vacation on Friday. We went to southern California with Mikey, he had to visit a few people for work and we kinda tagged along. The first few days we stayed right down the street from Disneyland. Since Brigham is a little too young to know what is going on we decided not to pay the $90 a person to go to the park. Maybe in a few years? Wednesday we drove down to Huntington Beach and stayed right on the ocean!! It was heaven! I absolutely love the beach!
They were filming some type of movie or something that night right on the beach, so we might be in a movie! I was so sure Brigham was going to love the beach/ocean just as much as I do so I took him down to the water and put his feet in it...he didnt like it too much! He started screaming and shaking! Poor kid! We then headed to the pier where we had dinner at Ruby's diner, its a 50's themed restaurant and was pretty fun.
The next day we decided to spend a little more time on the beach, it was so beautiful and perfect weather! Again, Brigham didnt like the water :) I'm a mean mom!
We drove back Friday and stopped in Palm Springs so Mikey could do some more business, so he dropped us off at a little shopping center. He thought it was only going to take an hour at the most...well 3 hours later still no Mikey!! It was hot and not many stores to go in to! He finally picked us up at we made the 5 hour drive to PV. Brigham was exhausted and so tired of sitting! I felt so bad for him! We got him a bigger carseat and tried it out on this trip...I really think he would have been a lot worse in his old carseat. He did soo good! Other than sleeping...he moves SO much in his sleep and I am a very light sleeper so it just sucked being in the same room as him for 4 nights!
He is getting so close to crawling! For the last few weeks he gets on his hands and TOES!! I tried it one day and its freakin hard! But while we were in Cali he started to get his knees underneath him and kind of moving his arms and legs and then just face plants :) He better start moving cuz daddy said as soon as he starts walking we get to get a dog! Brigham can't wait!! He LOVES dogs!! Every night we go on walks and see a ton of doggies and he gets soo excited! He knows a few of the dogs and as soon as he sees them he starts kicking his legs and screaming. One of them does the same when she sees him. She loves to lick his feet and hands (scares me half to death) but he loves it. There is also another dog who will not follow her owner if she sees us coming, the owners will either have to wait til she gets to say hi to Brigham or they just carry her along. Its so cute!

Weird day in Jerome

Yesterday we decided we wanted to make the windy road trip to Jerome, AZ. I had driven there before but hadn't stoppped. It's a little old mining town that is basically built on stilts! We made the trek up there in the afternoon, walked through some shops and realized this is not our cup of tea! There were a bunch of "hippie" type stores, the store I bought my flower for my hair from was extremely weird!! I swear the girl that helped me smelled like Marijuana! She was WAY too happy! HAHA! But we had fun, after walking in a few more shops we headed down to Cottonwood, AZ and had lunch/dinner. Then drove back home the unwindy way.
Brigham is growing up sooo fast! Last night I was getting his bath ready so I put him on our bedroom floor and he just started rolling EVERYWHERE!! He was on a mission to go somewhere. He finally made it over to me in the bathroom and was so proud of himself for making it there. He has been extremely hyper lately...could be all the Mountain Dew I have been giving him? HAHA just kiddin! He has been waking up at 2:30 every morning and just wanting to play! grr! He has also started to say doggy! He just says "da" and then squeels! HAHA!

While Mikey was on his trip in San Francisco we went to Pizza Hut for lunch one day and Brigham was in heaven! They had about 6 T.V.'s all of them playing football! He couldn't keep his eyes off it! Thata boy!

October 9th will most likely be the big day! I have my temple recommend interviews this week and then will call the Bountiful Temple to see if that day is available. Steve and Joann have to request time off from The First Presidency which will take a couple weeks to find out...they shouldn't have any problems getting the time off. We would love all family and friends to be there who are able to. So once we find out a time we will let you all know.
I seriously think this kid is the cutest thing in the world and I just snap pictures of him all the time! So enjoy!

Yesterday we got a letter in the mail from the First Presidency...giving us clearance to get sealed!! YAY!! We are soo excited to finally be married "for real" :) Since Mikey's parents are on their mission in Nauvoo and might not be able to leave their mission and come to Utah we might be flying my parents out to Nauvoo and doing it there. Of course if we do that most family members won't be able to be there...so we will let everyone know. We met with the Stake President last Sunday and he mentioned that the temple isn't too far away and Brigham started to bounce on my knee and squeeling! He was sooo excited! It was the cutest thing in the world!

Other news...Brigham is getting his 2nd tooth! BOO!! Mikey got to play golf last week in San Francisco...he played 4 courses in 3 days! My diet is going a lot better I have lost a total of 12 pounds and feel so much better.

Brigham just started to teethe last week...yay! I feel sooo bad for him! There is nothing I can do to help him with the pain. It has finally popped through and started to show so I'm hoping the worst part is over...at least for this tooth :)
He also says da da now and na na! He sings a lot and just blabbers all the time! He rolls all over the place..still no crawling but he gets around. He loves to go under our coffee table and lift it with his legs...

As you can tell my diet isn't going very well...I was doing great until we left for Utah again and its just gone downhill from there! I started it up again today to lose the weight in time to get sealed :)

A good day

Last Saturday I met back up with the Woodruff family in Utah and they talked me into going golfing with them again. I actually felt really good about going because I spent the morning watching Tiger Woods practice between his rounds. I felt like it was going to be a good day. I decided to buzz my hair because it was getting long and hadn't had a chance to get it cut. So I had a new haircut and felt good because I was channeling Tiger Woods all morning.

We went to play a course called Glen Eagle just a couple minutes from Lindsey's parents house. I had played it several times in the past and even though I usually play pretty well had never had the best of rounds when I was there.

We tee'd off about 1:35 or so in the afternoon it was a nice sunny day and it was kind of windy but not too bad. Scott (Lindsey's dad), Eric, Jeremy (Lindsey's brothers) and Lindsey's Grampa (Scotts dad) teed off first. We decided that Justin, Brett (Lindsey's brothers) and I would play behind them as a threesome. The round started out pretty well. I pared the first hole and made a 40 foot birdie putt on the second hole which was a par 3 for a birdie. I ended up hitting my drive in the water on the next hole a short par 5 but still managed to make a par. I followed that with two more pars and on the 6th hole I did the same thing hit a ball in the water but still managed to make par on the par 5. I walked to the 7th tee not knowing what was going to happen next.

When we got to the tee the group in front of us consisting of Lindsey's family decided that they would wait and watch us hit our shots into the hole. I later found out that Lindsey's grampa suggested it and Scott felt like maybe they shouldn't because they didn't want to hold any groups up. He almost insisted they just keep going but decided to wait and watch. Brett and Justin hit their shots first. I decided to hit a 7 iron to a back left hole. The hole was playing about 165 yards and with the hole being in the back I felt it would be a good club. I hit it well but at first thought it might be a little short. It was on a good line though. I saw the ball land and all of a sudden it looked like the ball disapeared. I heard the guys in front of us watching yell but just thought maybe it had hit the flag and bounced off. Then I saw Scott pulling out his phone and walking toward the green. I thought holy cow I think I just hit a hole in one. I gave a high five to Brett and Justin and then just went and got into my cart. I guess I just thought well that is pretty cool. Looking back I can't believe I didn't really start to freak out and run around or something. I think it was because I wanted to make sure I stayed focussed because now I was 3 under for my round. I called Lindsey as I was driving up to the green and told her. She was excited and told me congrats. I kind of hung up on her because I just told her I needed to go and give everyone high fives :)

When I first got up to the hole I had to peak in just like you see everyone do just to make sure that it was really in the hole.

It was a pretty cool thing to happen. I had always said that I wanted my first hole in one to be with my dad or brothers and figure it basically did. It was awesome that the group of my dad and other family that was playing in front of us got to see it first hand. They said the ball landed and rolled in just like a putt. Didn't even hit the flagstick. I think everyone else was more excited then I was.

I also always wanted my first hole in one to be when I played a good round. I figured for sure that I would blow up with it happening so early in the round. I had to really try to focus because I was still shaking a little even on the next couple of shots.

I ended up making a bogey on 8 and a great par save on 9 so I shot a 34 (2 under par) on the front side. Eric went in and gave all our names and the info to the pro so he could call it into the paper.

On the back 9 the great round continued. I lipped out for birdie on 10. I hit a 5 wood on my second shot to 3 feet on 11 and made the putt for an eagle. I have never had 2 eagles in one round either. I hit it to 2 inches on 13 a short par 3. I was that close to a second hole in one. I birdied 14 so at that point I was 5 under for the round. I made a bogey and a couple pars and on 18 I was 4 under.

It is a medium length par 5 with an island green. I hit a great drive which wasn't good because it made me have to think about going for the green in two. Eric didn't play the back 9 but he was riding with me. I asked him if I should go for it or lay up and he told me don't be a woss and no guts no glory. So I hit a 5 wood and ended up just off the green. I chipped it to about 8 feet and ended up lipping out for a birdie so a par and a final score of 68 (4 under par).

I have had several rounds in which I shot 70 but never a round in the 60's. It has been a goal of mine for years. I told Lindsey that the hole in one was awesome and I will never forget that but even hackers can get lucky and get a hold in one. I was more proud of the fact that I shot the 68 because not everyone can do that.

It was a great day. I know this is a long story and probably boring to most people. I just felt like this is my one chance to write down my feelings about the day.

Yet another Utah trip

We headed up to Utah again about 2 weeks ago. Drove up to Vegas, spent the night and then drove the rest of the way to my parents house. While we were there we got to say goodbye to Steve and Joann one more time before they left for Nauvoo. We went to lunch at Little America and spent the rest of the afternoon with them. They have made it safely to Nauvoo and started "working" today! Mikey drove back Sunday and went to work for a few days, then headed back up to Utah. We celebrated my mom's birthday and had a great time!

We finally found a 4-wheeler! After looking for months we finally found one that was a good enough deal for Mikey to get it! Both of us aren't the types of people who are going to go 4-wheelin up in the mountains so we are using it mostly for our yard...spraying weeds and stuff. I'm so excited we have it finally!! Hopefully that means our yard is even closer!

The last couple of nights we have decided to go on a walk right after a rain storm...little did we know that tarantulas love to come out after a huge rainstorm and this is what we ran in to...both nights!!!

It wasn't by our house but it still freaks me out!! Let's hope I never find one by our house!!!

New diets for all 3 of us

As some of you know once your baby turns 6 months you can now introduce solids to their diet...well as our last posts say we have started doing that. We took Brigham in to see his Dr. (for his flat head)exactly a week after his 6 month check and he had gained 9 oz!! Those solid foods are really getting to him!

Because of some comments from some people the last few weeks I have also started a "diet" It includes limiting my pop to only 1 a day and also limiting my candy intake. I have also tried to do 30 minutes on the eliptical and walk every night. I am doing pretty good so far, a little tired and have no energy, but thats from something else. The no pop and candy thing is killing me!

Mike has also started a new diet...he is trying to gain weight! Ya that's way fun to have in the house with me who's trying to lose weight! We will let you know how it all turns out.

We gave Brigham his first haircut on Thursday. His hair wasn't extremely long it was just longer in some spots and short in others so he kinda had a comb over. I was too nervous to cut it so I had Mike cut it. He looks like a little man now.

So I guess I listened to Lady Antebellum a little too much while I was pregnant with Brigham (especially their song "Need You Now" Brigham absolutely loves them!! That one song especially!!! He will stop whatever he is doing and turn towards the tv when it comes on. I recorded it on our TV so whenever he gets fussy I turn it on and it saves me for a few minutes. I recorded him watching the whole song today and as soon as it finished he looked at me like "again mom?" Its too long of a video to post on here so you'll just have to take my word for it.

This isn't his favorite song he's listening to here but it's his favorite group!

We have had a crazy last 3 weeks! Brigham and I flew up to Utah by ourselves (he did great on the plane) We spent about 10 days there. While we were there it was Syracuse days and Brigham got to go to his first parade! I was so nervous he was going to freak out when the fire trucks came by with their sirens...but he did great! He just kept kicking his legs and talking. We also started feeding him baby food! He LOVES it! We had a great time in Utah! Then we met Mike at the SLC airport and he flew with us to Portland to visit his family. While we were there Steve and Joann received their mission call...to Nauvoo! So excited for them! They leave Aug. 2nd for a year. Also while we were there Brigham started his fake cough again! I think cuz of grandpa! :) He is doing it as I type! He also got to swim for the first time, not sure if he liked it, there were a bunch of kids screaming and splashing him and he didnt last too long. We went to the zoo and Brigham seemed to love it! I love the zoo and hadnt been in years! I just wish the animals were out where we could see more of them! But it was a great time! As much fun as we had I was so ready to get home!
We flew to Vegas where Mike left his car and drove back...I arrived to a surprise! We had decided to do a little project in our bedroom. We wanted to paint stripes and do a chair rail type thing, when I left to Utah Mike had finished painting one of the walls and that was it...well when we got back it was all done! There is a little bit of touch up work to do but I think it looks fantastic!
I also took Brigham to his 6 month appt yesterday and he is doing great! He weighs 20lbs 13 oz and is 28 inches long...he gained exactly 4 lbs and his head grew a ton I guess, they had to remeasure just to make sure :)

Two new things for Brig

Lindsey got some sunglasses for Brig while they were up in Salt Lake. He loves them and as you can see he is just relaxing. The sunglasses are great they have a strap that goes around his head so they stay on. I thought he would pull them off all the time but Lindsey says he doesn't and loves them.

We had Brig get into his basketball outfit the other day. I don't think he really liked having the tennys on but he looked great in his basketball shorts. If he keeps growing like he has so far he is going to be like 7 feet tall and about 220lbs.

Ok I want to know what everyone thinks...everybody has thought that Brigham looks like Grandpa Sorensen! I wanted to see for myself so I had Gram Sorensen email me some pics of Grampa when he was a baby and this is what she sent...

I can't believe how similar they look!! Now we know where Brigham gets his HUGE noggin!! :) We already knew he got Grampa's sweat genes!

Thanks to Sarah for the Johnny jump up she gave us! Brigham absolutely loves it! We had tried to put him in it a few times before and he didnt have a clue what to do...but thanks to Pete and Angie (they gave us their exersaucer) he has learned how to jump now!

We spent a couple days down in Phoenix this week...it was a blast! Had dinner at Pete and Angie's house the first night, Dave and Jess were there too. That night we put Brigham to bed like normal and around 10:30 he woke up SCREAMING like he was in pain!! It was so sad! We had been giving him Tylenol for a couple days cuz of his teeth and forgot to give it to him that night, so I ran and got some ice from the hall and Mike sat with Brigham and rocked him with a cold binky in his mouth, I thought it was going to be a looong night! Brigham went right to sleep after about 15 minutes of switching a frozen binky and Mike's frozen finger in his mouth :) He slept awesome!! Even with our retarded AC unit in the hotel...it would turn off for like 15 seconds then turn right back on, it also sounded like a freakin car motor that just keeps turning! It was so annoying! Luckily I slept great too, Mike on the other hand didn't...he had to get up pretty early to go golfing with Pete. They had a great time! Mike shot a 71!!! He was so proud of himself! I went over to Angie's house and had some much needed girl talk! The boys got done and met us at the house then we all headed to BJ's and had a fantastic lunch and got some COLD STONE icecream! YUMMY! While we werer down there Mike did some work as well :)
While he did I went to a mall in North Phoenix and had a blast! We went to a puppy store and saw the cutest puppies in the world! We had a great time!
Tonight we get to have the missionaries over for dinner! YAY for pizza!
Our sealing process is finally moving forward a little! It's about time! Just in time for our Bishop to move :(

Kidney stones and colds!

I spoke a little too soon in the post about Utah...Mike and I both have colds! Brigham hasn't acted like he is sick...yet, let's hope it stays that way. I do think he is getting a tooth though. He is drooling more than ever and I can kinda see little bumps! He's getting so big!

Well if anyone knows me they know I LOVE to drink pop! Especially since I stopped working. I know I shouldn't for a couple reasons, but the main reason for me is I get kidney stones all the time!! Well I have to learn the hard way again! It started I think on Monday and because I have had sooo many I knew exactly what it was! I hadn't had a major one for over a year when I had to get one blasted, but this one is almost as bad as labor pains! Again if anyone knows me I hate taking pain meds (the strong ones at least) Yep I still have it and not sure if I will be able to pass this one on my own either! I think due to all the stones I have had I'm sure there is scarring and that makes it harder to pass? Not sure just trying to sound educated! :) There is one thing different about this one though...I can't eat! Whenever I eat my insides HURT!! Makes me a little nauseous due to the pain...maybe this will help me lose the extra 50 pounds! HAHA!

This week we get to go down to Phoenix for a couple days. Mike and Pete are going to go golfing and Ang and I are going to go shopping! WOO!! Then in a couple weeks Brigham and I get to fly with Mike to San Diego and spend a few days there! It's going to be awesome!

Brigham is seriously the most spoiled 5 month old in the world! Not only does he have the greatest parents and grandparents in the world :) But I think he is the only 5 month old with a Blackberry! He LOVES it!! He listens to music and surfs the net and of course puts it in his mouth! :) It's my old phone that totally died on me and since he always grabs our phones and puts them in his mouth I thought I would give him my old one. He also has a few remote controls that he loves as well...he is definitely a guy!

Things are going pretty good here in good ol Prescott Valley! Loving watching Brigham learn and grow everyday!

I just wanted to take some time to "count" all my blessings. First off I am so blessed to be a mom! Brigham is a huge blessing in my life and has taught me that "I can do hard things" as my mom always says. He has also taught me how to be unselfish. He has taught me how important all the "little" things are. I never thought I would get so excited about him laughing for the first time and rolling over for the first time. I am such a proud mommy and LOVE to show him off! I am so grateful that he is healthy and growing and learning. I am EXTREMELY gratefully he is sleeping through the night :)
Second I am so blessed to have Mike as my husband! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and supports me and loves me like no one else can! He does whatever he has to do to make sure Brigham and I have everything we need and want. He is such a great dad! He loves our little guy so much it almost makes me cry everytime I see him playing with Brigham. He gave up a job that he loved in Spokane to make me happier and I am so grateful for that! I don't feel worthy of all of this love and think that he is WAY out of my league and I am grateful that he has chosen to be with me and continues to choose to be with me.
I am grateful to have the gospel in our lives! I know that we are blessed because of it. I know that Mikey and I were supposed to find each other and we will someday soon be sealed so we can be together forever...and I can't wait for that day!
We are both so blessed to come from such amazing families! They love us no matter what! And are so supportive of everything we do!
Just wanted to take a moment to say how blessed I am!

Well Brigham rolled over today!!! WOOO!! He looked a little confused when he did it...it could be because I screamed when he did it! HAHA!! I was so proud of him! I turned him on his tummy again to see if he would do it again and rolled right over! 3 times in a row! I luckily caught one time on the camera. He also did awesome eating from a spoon! He had a tough time at first but finally got it and realized he needed to open his mouth. He is such a cute little guy and a huge blessing in our lives!

4 month stats

We went to Brigham's 4 month appt today, he weighs 16 lbs. 13 oz. is 27.5 inches long!! His head hasn't grown too much but I think it started out HUGE in the first place :) He is also starting to get some teeth! They aren't out yet but the Dr. could definitely feel them. He ALMOST rolled over today! Just before I had to take Mike to catch his shuttle to the airport we had him laying on his mat on his tummy and he saw daddy and started to roll over! He got his huge noggin and body rolled over just got too tired to get his legs over :) We will keep practicing and he will have it down in no time!

Mike is in Spokane for the whole week for a regional meeting...back in his old stomping grounds! It's going to be a very long week!

I did get to go shopping today! I needed a new outfit for my sisters wedding, so I got a cute black skirt, bright blue top and some black pumps!! I'm going to wear them around the house to buff up my calves! I'm like 6 feet tall with them on! We'll be back up in Utah in a couple weeks for the wedding...don't ask me why we even came home...this time we are flying though! AAHH! I'm a little nervous to see how Brigham will do, I think I will be worse than him :) Mike is going to fly to SLC with us and then from there to Hawaii!! Lucky! He says its not going to be any fun but I think he's just trying to make me feel better cuz I can't go this time

Sorry I told you I had a ton of pics...here are a few more. Also Brigham has invented a new noise that he does all the time! To me it sounds like cats growling at each other. HAHA!! It's so cute! He just decided to do it one night and hasn't stopped. I think we are going to have a huge talker on our hands once he decides to talk. He has also gotten better at pulling my hair!!! It hurts sooo bad! While I burp him he tries to eat my cheek too, I think he's trying to give me kisses though.
I can't believe he is already 4 months old(today) Ever since he was born I have always told Mike he doesn't seem like a baby to me, I think its because he has such distinct facial features and is sooo animated! I can't wait to see how is when he grows up...Mike seems to think he is going to be a ladies man :) He is such a flirt!

Yes we are still alive! Brigham and I have been in Utah for about 3 weeks now and just haven't had time or a computer to update the blog. Mike just joined us friday night and we will be leaving for home tomorrow morning :( It's been a blast seeing my family and just having people around! It gets very lonely at home when Mike is out of town.

We blessed Brigham the first week we were up here and it was a beautiful blessing! I ended up finding an all white tux the will be perfect for when we go through the temple...I will post pics once I get home and can download them on the computer. We also got sick AGAIN!! This time it was a little worse and I am still trying to get over it. I took Brigham in a couple times to Wee care and they weighed him...he weighs 16.5 lbs!!! He has also started to sleep all by himself for like 2 hours in between each feeding during the day!! HALLELUJAH!! Also still sleeping about 10 hours during the night...even when he was sick! Such a good little boy! I still have to wrap him up as tight as possible otherwise he pulls his arms out of the blanket and pulls his binky out, pulls his hair and scratches the crap out of his face. There are times he still figures out a way to get them out. He also likes to have a burp rag layed over the side of his bed so he can look at it when he's trying to get to sleep. You're probably wondering how I know that? Well I'm smart!! :) I put him down, he looks at me and then looks away and looks right at the burp rag until he falls asleep! Silly kid! I think he is also getting a tooth, he is drooling so much more than normal and I feel a big bump! Let's just hope it actually comes out and doesnt play tricks on us. He is getting better at sitting up on his own, his huge tummy still gets in the way but he's trying. He has also started to stand up a lot more, with us holding him of course, but I can already tell he is going to be a handful once he learns to crawl and walk. Which I'm kind of looking forward to since it will get me moving and help me lose some weight!

Still not sure on a temple date yet...we are waiting on Mike's ex wife to write a letter giving us clearance to get sealed. Not sure why she has any say in it but oh well. I think he needs to just get a sealing cancellation and get it over with. But thats just me. It should be hopefully sometime in the next month. We are going to do it in the Salt Lake Temple if we can and we are so excited!

We also spent a few days in St. George before we came up to my parents house. We went to Zion for a day and went on a beautiful hike(with Brigham in his stroller) it was gorgeous weather and I even got a little tan! Mike worked the next day and then "worked" again the day after that...by that I mean he went golfing! He says its for work? Which means I got to go shopping!! I found some way cute clothes for my sisters little girl and a cute outfit for Brigham. Still hate shopping for myself! I need to lose like 50 pounds before I'll like shopping again.

Almost 3 months! WOW!

I can't believe Brigham is almost 3 months old! He is growing up so fast! He has started to giggle more, he's "talking" a whole lot more, he's taking naps in his crib! YAY! My shoulder was starting to give up on me, he has been tougher on my shoulders than 6 years of volleyball was! He also learned that instead of "chewing" on his thumb he can now suck on it! And boy does he SUCK on it! He wakes up in the morning and all you hear is him slurping away. We gotta keep an eye on that! He very slowly brings his hands to his mouth and then plops him thumb right in, its so cute! He also likes to attempt to sit up all the time, especially right after he eats, his tummy is way too full for that but he still tries. We are noticing more and more about his cute little personality, we have taken him to church a few times and he loves looking around at everybody, he also loves to watch us eat. He eyeballs everything we put into our mouths! I think his first word will be "food" :) He is also getting better at reaching for things and grabbing them. He loves to grab my hand and my ring, and also his little toys on his bouncy seat (he does get a little scared of them after a while, he's a little bit of a pansy) He is such a cute little guy.

Well other than that the weather here is absolutely gorgeous! It has been in the mid 60's the last few days and nothing but sunshine! I can't wait til we have some grass to go out and play on. We get to go on a little vacation in a week and a half, we are heading up to St. George so Mikey can visit some guys for work, we are meeting his co-worker/friend Trevor and his family there. Once the boys are done with work we are all going to head to Zion's!! YAY!! Then up to my parents house for Easter/conference. Mikey's parents will be there as well so we decided thats when we are going to bless Brigham. I am so excited! We get to stay there for 2 and a half weeks while Mikey goes on some more business trips. I love spending time with family and Brigham absolutely loves it too! We get to see Tiffany's new little girl for the first time and she is also getting blessed the same time. Hopefully this time I wont get sick and will be able to spend some time with some old friends.

Brigham's 2 month stats

We took Brigham to his 2 month appt last week, he weighs 13 lbs. 6 oz., he's 24 inches long and his head is now 17 inches around!! He's a freakin tank! I was extremely shocked to learn he was over 13 pounds! He also got his shots and man that was so sad! I always thought it was weird when moms would talk about almost crying when their kids get shots...well I teared up a bit when they gave them to him. He is doing great, he had a little cold for the last week or so but he is finally starting to get over it. He also learned to love his swing this week!!! The day I broke his favorite thing...the mobile! Don't worry we got him a new one and he loves it! He talks to it for 20 minutes strait, its the cutest thing in the world! He has started to be more active and stronger in his kicks he gives my ribs :) I thought I was done with getting kicked in the ribs when I had him? We have been going on walks together and having some play dates at the park, he loves being social. So does mom :) I don't have much time to lose all the baby weight! It's a heck of a lot harder than it used to be.
My sister had her little girl on Thursday, they named her Paisley Lynn, she was 7 pounds. They tell me she doesnt cry at all and sleeps all the time! They ar rubbing it in sooooo bad! HAHA!

Brigham's first road trip

What a good big cousin!!

Well we made it through Brigham's first road trip! He and I left early Feb. 9th, going off of 3 hours of sleep might I add, met my dad in Vegas, that was the longest 5 hours of my life!! He basically cried the whole way there! Once we picked my dad up he was good for about 30 minutes :) He absolutely hates his carseat! It took about 13 hours to get to my parents house and both of us were just exhausted. I bathed him and fed him and prepared myself to be awake for a few hours trying to get him to sleep like normal but as soon as I burped him the last time he was OUT! I was so shocked I didnt know what to do! He slept for about 6 hours and then up every 3 hours like normal. The next night I expected to go back to normal again but he went right to sleep again! and slept for 8 and a half hours strait!!! I woke up at 5 worried he was dead :) I couldn't get myself back to sleep. He absolutely loved all of the attention...he is a social butterfly! He also loved the cats :) Mikey hates that part. Everytime that would meow he would coo and try to meow just like them...haha! So the 3rd night I was thinking him sleeping thru the night was too good to be true...I was wrong again! He did it again! What a big boy! He is growing up so fast!

We bought Brigham his first church outfit and took him to church for the first time! He looked so stinkin cute! We also celebrated BJ's birthday that day too. I started to get sick that Monday. Mikey flew in on Thursday night, it was soooo nice to see him after 10 days! and of course Brigham goes back to his normal sleep schedule so now Mikey thinks I'm lying about him sleeping through the night. My mom and dad took Brigham for the night on Friday while Mikey and I celebrated my birthday. We went to Chili's and he took me shopping for jeans that aren't maternity :) Man that was depressing! I REALLY need to workout hard! Saturday we had the whole family over for pizza, cake and icecream and play a little Wii.

We left Monday and drove to Vegas and stayed the night there, figured Brigham wouldn't make the 13 hour drive again. While we were there I took him in to my old work to show him off, while I was there Mikey suggested I go out with the girls and he would take care of Brigham all night. What a great husband! So me Sandra and Andi went to dinner and just caught up and had a blast! It was so nice to see my old friends! And to have a little bit of time to myself. We made it home yesterday and of course Brigham caught my cold :( I feel so bad for him, there is nothing I can do for him and he just feels horrible! We have his 2 month appt on Friday so I will post his stats then, but I am guessing he weighs at least 11 pounds! He is a little piggy!

Thanks to Grandpa Sorensen (his sweat genes) we now have to put a cool wash cloth on Brigham's head...only while he eats. He works up such a sweat that he gives himself heat rash! It shows me what he would have looked like if he was born a girl...VERY pretty! :)

Next Tuesday I get to drive up to meet my dad in Vegas where he will be for work and then drive back to Utah with him! I get to stay for 2 weeks! I'm so excited! Mikey will be gone a lot during that time and figured I would go insane if I was home alone with Brigham that whole time. We will be there during my birthday so maybe we'll be able to celebrate a little...that is if Grandma and Grandpa don't mind :)
I am still getting used to the sleep deprivation...for those of you who know me, that should be no surprise I'm still not used to it. Brigham is getting SO big! He is 6 and a half weeks old. He has also found out that he can turn his head, he flings it from side to side and goes absolutely nuts! He's going to rub off his mullet! :( So sad!
As for me I am still recovering, I still have a little bit of pain but things are good. I did my first workout in months and thought I was going to die! I'm going to try to lose 45 pounds within the next few months to fit into my wedding dress again when Mikey, Brigham and I get sealed in the temple.
Wish me luck on my drive alone to Vegas :)

5 weeks already??

Well we have survived over 5 weeks! WHEW!! Last Monday we took Brigham to the Dr. due to an over paranoid mom :) He had a white spot on the roof of his mouth and was worrying me, luckily nothing is wrong but we did get him weighed and he is a wopping 10 lbs. 3 oz.!! Big guy! He is starting to smile at me when I say hi to him (makes everything all worth it) When he is half asleep he even laughs! Cracks me up everytime. He still loves his mobile and whenever I feel like I just need a break or need food I put him under that and he is happy for at least 5 minutes! He is a very observant baby and I can tell he is going to be a handful once he gets moving on his own. He wants to sit up and move around already! Today I put him in his bouncy seat and he was trying so hard to sit up! He holds his head up which he has done since the day he was born.

He has HUGE thighs which he got from his mommy of course! and he is changing every single day!

We also survived Mikey's first trip out of town...barely! It was extremely difficult and if it wasn't for my awesome ward members bringing me dinner I probably wouldn't have eaten the whole time. One day I totally forgot to eat anything til somebody brought me an awesome dinner.

We also survived our first trip out of town all together. Mikey's brother David got married this last weekend so we spent 2 and a half days down in Phoenix. I do not recommend that to anybody with a newborn! We had a blast but...I wouldn't do t again. Brigham did great it was mom who was stressed out :) He absolutely loved all the extra people to hold and love him and I loved all the help too! I think he gets bored when its just me and him at home. Mikey went on another business trip this week and just got home tonight, we did 10 times better this time, I think we are both finally getting used to our new lives.

I forgot to mention last time that it was Mikeys 31st birthday the beginning of this month and I totally spaced it and didnt even celebrate! I'm a horrible wife! Anyways Happy birthday Mikey!

Well our little guy is now 2 and a half weeks old! crazy! We took him to his 2 week appt and he now weighs 8 lbs 13 oz and is 21 inches long! He is definitely a big eater! (when he wants to be) Lately he will be eating for about 2 minutes and either fall asleep or just gnaw on the bottle, if he falls asleep it lasts for maybe 5 minutes and then he is wide awake again! He has a cute personality already. He absolutely loves his hands! They are always by his face, in his mouth or trying to hold onto his bottle. He loves to look at any lights he can, loves his mobile in his crib, absolutely loved his first submerged bath last night and stretches just like his daddy :) He is kind of a sissy though, he whines and whimpers in his sleep all the time! He scares himself all the time with his HUGE burps or by his sneezes. He is getting better at not peeing on us when we change him, though he still does it a few times a week, its a boy thing I guess?
Mom and dad are getting a little more used to the lack of sleep, Mikey has been a life saver for me! He takes most of the nighttime feedings and lets me sleep a little longer. He says he is doing it because next week he leaves town for a few days for the first time since Brigg was born. Everyone pray for me please! I have already lost about 28 lbs and still counting! YAY! Welcome Brigham Steven Sorensen

We had an induction set for Monday the 21st at 5:30 AM, but of course I had to go into labor myself on Sunday at 5:15 PM. We headed to the hospital around 9:00. I wasn't progressing as much as they wanted me to but decided to keep me there and have us walk for about an hour. The contractions were so bad I decided I would take a hot shower...helped soooo much! The nurse called the Dr. to see what we should do and he said to give me Pitocin at 3:00 AM and then once I hit 4 cm they could give me the epidural. Labor pains are HORRIBLE!!! I can't even imagine going through labor without drugs :) At 5:45 they finally gave me the epidural, kinda hurt but well worth the pain. Once I got that taken care of I zonked out. Only waking up to my nurses coming in and out every 5 minutes to look "busy" I wasn't too impressed with my nurses by the way. They wouldn't tell me anything about what was going on so I had to ask them everything. Finally around 10 they checked and I was about a 10 so they said they would call my Dr. Well, nurse comes in and says we are going to wait for me to progress more? Weird! Anyways around 12:45 they finally had my start pushing, by this time the epidural was wearing off and I was starting to feel the pain again. I pushed for about 30 minutes with the nurses before they called the Dr. in and of course they pushed me too hard and tore the crap out of me, Dr. wasn't too happy with them when she showed up. Brigham was born at 1:23 PM weighing in at 8 lbs 8 oz!! and a 15 inch head! I guess thats huge? He was hungry from the get go, biting the doctors fingers when she was delivering him. That was the most amazing experience of my life, to share that with Mikey was so awesome! I was so excited to see his reaction when he was born but I was crying too hard to even see what he was doing :)

We stayed at the hospital for about 24 hrs and they sent us home. First diaper changing at home he did what every little boy does and peed all over us! Silly kid!

The first night was terrible! He wanted to eat all the time and was never saitisfied so he maybe slept for 2 hours the whole night. Not what I expected from a newborn. Finally we called the hospital to see what we could do (we were about to break at this point) so they suggested pumping and giving him whatever we can get, we fed it to him and had my dad give him a blessing and right away he was a totally different baby! Love the power of the priesthood! He slept for about 4 hours and had 2 happy parents. Last night was 10 times better than the night before. We had his first appt with the pediatrician this morning and things are looking great other than he lost a little too much weight but the Dr. isnt to concerned considering his skin tone looks great. I also had an appt with the lactation specialist at the hospital and HOLY COW she was such a help! Again I was "taught" how to feed by my nurse before and it was nothing like what the specialist told me. So to sum things up we now have a happy normal baby! YAY!

We also have my family here to see/help with the baby and to celebrate Christmas. It has been great having family here especially for Christmas. They have been great dealing with my mood swings and constant feedings. Hope everybody has a very merry Christmas! We got the most perfect gift in the world!

Ok so we finally found a rug for our kitchen. We were going to put the two of them together like in this picture but it was just too big so we decided to just do the one and move the other rug into the family room. This is mainly for mom.

So it is almost Christmas and we still haven't gotten our best present yet. If it doesn't happen over the weekend Monday morning at 5:30am we are scheduled to get Lindsey induced. Hopefully the baby will come early on Monday so that we can get Lindsey and the baby home on Tuesday in enough time to get to watch the Cougars lay the beat down on the Beavers at 6pm :)

Here is the Christmas tree. Lots of memories on the tree with all the ornaments we have gotten over the years. Its funny there are certain ones that even though they are cheesy and we have better ones I still like to see on the tree remembering when I got them or just some kind of memory that makes them extra special.

Lindsey loves all the snow globes we got last year along with all the metal Christmas figures. Also can see our fireplace kind of the glass has gotten really dirty and haven't had a chance to clean it.

We will keep everyone posted on when the baby gets here. If you have a cell phone that accepts pictures I will send you one asap after things calm down at the hospital. If not you will have to wait until I get internet access. I will have my laptop and I will use my phone to get internet as soon as things calm down in the hospital and I will get some pictures on the blog if I can or atleast send out an email to mom so she can forward it on to the Sorensens and I will get them off to the Woodruffs also. Thank you to everyone that has called to check in and make sure we are doing good and for all the prayers people have said they have been saying for Lindsey.
