Pretty boy!

Welcome Brigham Steven Sorensen

We had an induction set for Monday the 21st at 5:30 AM, but of course I had to go into labor myself on Sunday at 5:15 PM. We headed to the hospital around 9:00. I wasn't progressing as much as they wanted me to but decided to keep me there and have us walk for about an hour. The contractions were so bad I decided I would take a hot shower...helped soooo much! The nurse called the Dr. to see what we should do and he said to give me Pitocin at 3:00 AM and then once I hit 4 cm they could give me the epidural. Labor pains are HORRIBLE!!! I can't even imagine going through labor without drugs :) At 5:45 they finally gave me the epidural, kinda hurt but well worth the pain. Once I got that taken care of I zonked out. Only waking up to my nurses coming in and out every 5 minutes to look "busy" I wasn't too impressed with my nurses by the way. They wouldn't tell me anything about what was going on so I had to ask them everything. Finally around 10 they checked and I was about a 10 so they said they would call my Dr. Well, nurse comes in and says we are going to wait for me to progress more? Weird! Anyways around 12:45 they finally had my start pushing, by this time the epidural was wearing off and I was starting to feel the pain again. I pushed for about 30 minutes with the nurses before they called the Dr. in and of course they pushed me too hard and tore the crap out of me, Dr. wasn't too happy with them when she showed up. Brigham was born at 1:23 PM weighing in at 8 lbs 8 oz!! and a 15 inch head! I guess thats huge? He was hungry from the get go, biting the doctors fingers when she was delivering him. That was the most amazing experience of my life, to share that with Mikey was so awesome! I was so excited to see his reaction when he was born but I was crying too hard to even see what he was doing :)
We stayed at the hospital for about 24 hrs and they sent us home. First diaper changing at home he did what every little boy does and peed all over us! Silly kid!
The first night was terrible! He wanted to eat all the time and was never saitisfied so he maybe slept for 2 hours the whole night. Not what I expected from a newborn. Finally we called the hospital to see what we could do (we were about to break at this point) so they suggested pumping and giving him whatever we can get, we fed it to him and had my dad give him a blessing and right away he was a totally different baby! Love the power of the priesthood! He slept for about 4 hours and had 2 happy parents. Last night was 10 times better than the night before. We had his first appt with the pediatrician this morning and things are looking great other than he lost a little too much weight but the Dr. isnt to concerned considering his skin tone looks great. I also had an appt with the lactation specialist at the hospital and HOLY COW she was such a help! Again I was "taught" how to feed by my nurse before and it was nothing like what the specialist told me. So to sum things up we now have a happy normal baby! YAY!
We also have my family here to see/help with the baby and to celebrate Christmas. It has been great having family here especially for Christmas. They have been great dealing with my mood swings and constant feedings. Hope everybody has a very merry Christmas! We got the most perfect gift in the world!

Christmas at the Sorensen's

Ok so we finally found a rug for our kitchen.  We were going to put the two of them together like in this picture but it was just too big so we decided to just do the one and move the other rug into the family room.  This is mainly for mom.

So it is almost Christmas and we still haven't gotten our best present yet.  If it doesn't happen over the weekend Monday morning at 5:30am we are scheduled to get Lindsey induced.  Hopefully the baby will come early on Monday so that we can get Lindsey and the baby home on Tuesday in enough time to get to watch the Cougars lay the beat down on the Beavers at 6pm :)

Here is the Christmas tree.  Lots of memories on the tree with all the ornaments we have gotten over the years.  Its funny there are certain ones that even though they are cheesy and we have better ones I still like to see on the tree remembering when I got them or just some kind of memory that makes them extra special.

Lindsey loves all the snow globes we got last year along with all the metal Christmas figures.  Also can see our fireplace kind of the glass has gotten really dirty and haven't had a chance to clean it.

We will keep everyone posted on when the baby gets here.  If you have a cell phone that accepts pictures I will send you one asap after things calm down at the hospital.  If not you will have to wait until I get internet access.  I will have my laptop and I will use my phone to get internet as soon as things calm down in the hospital and I will get some pictures on the blog if I can or atleast send out an email to mom so she can forward it on to the Sorensens and I will get them off to the Woodruffs also.  Thank you to everyone that has called to check in and make sure we are doing good and for all the prayers people have said they have been saying for Lindsey.

So I just realized that it doesnt show me who votes what on our poll, so no sweet prize :) unless you email me your guess too. If it were up to me I would have had him a couple days ago, I am definitely getting more and more anxious and just ready to get this over with. But I know its not up to me and he probably needs to "cook" in there a little bit longer.

Poll

I have added a poll to the blog to see when everybody thinks I will deliver the baby. We are hoping its not tomorrow while Mikey is gone for the day :) Whoever wins will get a sweet prize! Remember the due date is Dec. 22nd. Good luck!

37 weeks!!

I met with my dr. today to see how things were going and he finally turned head down! YAY! It made me a little nervous and made it a little more real. I stopped my pills yesterday and she lifted all the restrictions she had me on, so this baby can come anytime! She also stirred up my membranes (sorry if thats too much info) and from what she said she wouldnt be surprised if I delivered him this week! Scary!
Also, today is our 2nd anniversary! CRAZY!! Now that I'm not on bedrest we might be able to go out to eat or a movie or something? Mikey is in Ontario CA tonight until tomorrow so we will celebrate then. I can't believe how much has happened in the last 2 years, we have lived in 3 different states and so many other changes! I can't wait for the years to come!
Anyways just wanted to update everyone just in case I don't get a chance to before Mikey Jr. arrives :)

BIG baby!

I had my 36 week appt today and they did an ultrasound just to make sure everything is still ok, well they determined that he weighs about 7lbs 13oz.!!! With 4 more weeks to go! He also has a HUGE head which scares me half to death! I'm not worried he's gonna look funny with a big head, I'm more worried about how I'm going to push him out. He is also breech right now, my Dr. said usually they have turned by now but we'll give him til next week and if he still hasn't turned we will "talk about our options" so I'm guessing either C-section or trying to turn him...which I don't want to try! I've heard it hurts like crazy! I'm not too worried about a C-section other than the recovery. She is taking me off my pills that are stopping the contractions next Monday and she says if I go into labor its alright next week! Kinda scary! I'm way excited to finally meet our little guy (re-confirmed its a boy again today) He is getting almost too heavy for me to carry around, I have a hard time standing or sitting too long and have to lay down a lot. Other than that everything here is great! We are going to have our own little Thanksgiving here at our house with just the 2 of us and just have a relaxing time. Mikey gets to speak in sacrament meeting this Sunday...and yes I said 'gets' he absolutely loves to speak in public...crazy guy! The bishop said he was going to ask me to speak as well but didn't think that was very nice :) We have the best bishop! If he would have asked me to speak I think I would have had the baby right then and there! Unlike Mikey I absloutely hate speaking in public...even saying prayers scares me half to death!

35 weeks

I just realized I hadn't put any pictures up from my shower...so here are a few of them, I had a blast and got some way cute things for our little guy!! Also, just as an update, I went to my Dr. about a week and a half ago and they sent me to the hospital AGAIN!! I am still dilated to just a 1 but I am 75% effaced! I was having contractions so they finally gave me medication to stop them. It works but it also makes me very shaky and wired and makes my heart race! But I am willing to put up with it to make sure he stays in there as long as possible so we have a healthy baby. There isn't a NICU in Prescott, the closest one is in Phoenix which is about 2 hours away.
I had another appt the next Monday, she said I haven't changed (which is good) and wants to do an ultrasound next Monday. She also said I shouldn't go to Primary anymore, my calling has me help wherever they need me, the last few weeks I have been substituting for the Sunbeams! Very stressful on my body! and emotionally!
I am starting to feel VERY big and very uncomfortable, he kicks me in the ribs all the time and every once in a while I will feel a contraction, but nothing too bad.
Luckily after this week Mikey will be in town most of the time, he is in Northern California this week til Thursday. We have a great ward and a lot of people who are willing to help me out in any way! Anyway here are a few pictures :)

All the presents!

Tanner was a great helper! He loved helping me open the presents

Almost 35 weeks pregnant, not the best angle but I am huge! yep its starting to go to my face too :)

Pregnancy update

Well these last few days have been very weird for me! It started on Sunday at church I was getting hot flashes and sweating! For those of you who know me that is VERY unusual! I'm usually always cold! I thought it was because Mikey and I said the opening and closing prayers in sacrament and my heart was still pounding from that :) Well Monday comes along and I feel a little weird, as the day went on I became dizzy, had crazy vision for a little bit and was extremely hot. I called my Dr. just to be safe and they said to take it easy, eat protein and if it got worse or didnt go away to go into the hospital. That night I felt some cramping in my tummy and still didnt feel any better. I stuck it out til the morning and the dizziness came back again but a lot stronger this time. By this time Mikey had left for Vegas for the week and I was home alone, so I figured I needed to get this taken care of ASAP. I headed to the hospital and they took me up to the OB where they hooked me up to the fetal heart monitor and the one that measures my contractions. Right as soon as I got hooked up I had a pretty significant contraction...I told the nurse I didnt feel anything other than being a little more dizzy and sweaty...ya she thought that was a little weird, so we kept an eye on it, I was having contractions about every minute and of course every time I wold get a little more dizzy and sweaty so they figured thats how I felt the contraction. Both nurses had never heard of that before, but I like to make things a little more difficult :) They checked to see if I was dilated at all and I was to a 1 and they also did a test that would let us know if I was going to be delivering within the next 2 weeks, I haven't heard the results yet. While the nurse was asking all the questions we figured the only thing that had changed was changing to a different medication 2 weeks ago and think that may be contributing to it...the contractions died down after about 45 minutes and I felt a ton better, so they let me go. Since then I have still been a little dizzy but I guess I just have to deal with it until we can figure out whats going on. I have an appt with my Dr. tomorrow afternoon and hopefully I will get more answers from her.
I still have 7 weeks to go and as much as we want to meet our little guy...not right now! So if you all could keep us in your prayers I would really appreciate it. I will let everybody know what (if anything) I figure out tomorrow afternoon.

So here are a few of the things we have got for our little guy. We got the swing, pack n play, and the bedding off of craigslist, not to mention about 125 outfits!! We love craigslist! The bedding was almost exactly what I wanted, we got 8 extra items for less than the one we were going to buy!! The only real big things we are waiting to get are the changing table, which has been ordered and the mattress, these babies are expensive!! I have about 2 more months left and can't wait to meet mini Mikey! We also had my baby shower up in Utah and had a blast! We got a ton of great things and it was so nice to see my family again!
Steve and Joann came to visit last week and we had a blast! Thanks to all our family and friends for all your support! Enjoy the pics

Utah...random pics

We went to Utah a couple weeks ago to visit family and also have family pics taken. Justin and Amber and the kids were in town from PA so we decided to head up to see them. We had a blast! I flew in Thursday afternoon, my brother Eric had won the BYU "Thursday's Hero" so he got to meet the whole football team and coaches! He was in heaven! He is seriously the BIGGEST BYU fan I have ever met! Everything he does and all his clothes are BYU. They let him into Bronco's office and got a picture of him sitting in his desk (still waiting on those pics dad :)) They tape this whole thing and play it on "Cougar Diaries" so they "mic'd" Eric up and interviewed him...he absolutley loved it!! HAHA! Then they headed down to where the team practices. The team was in a huddle and my parents, Eric and President Elmore were standing right outside the circle, they opened up the circle towards them and about 4 of the players called Eric by name and had him come into the circle. They gave him 2 hats, a couple shirts they all signed a huge Y flag and gave it to him, they also had him sign the Y flag they carry out before each game which means he is a part of the team now and invited him to come to any practice he wants! Yep he is bugging EVERYBODY to take him down everyday! HAHA! He also saw Greg Rubel? the guy who does the radio announcing for every home game, and said "What are the chances of me coming up in the booth with you?" and Greg said "Pretty good" So he gets to sit in the booth for the game against Utah state next week! He had a great time and he deserves it! He is the coolest little brother in the world and our family is so blessed to have him in our family!
Anyways before I start crying again...I am very emotional lately! Wonder why! We had a great time hanging with the whole family and seeing all the kids again!
I just entered my last trimester! And yes I am starting to notice it! I am getting sooo big! Last week I told Mikey that I was so glad my fingers hadn't swollen to the point I couldn't wear my wedding ring and what happens yesterday?? Yep my ring doesn't fit anymore :( Oh well thats why we have my extra ring.
This week has been pretty busy, Mikey is in town which means we are doing a ton of stuff around the house. We had a carpet guy come yesterday to fix our bulging carpet. We (Mikey) hung a bunch of pics, cleaned our cars, cleaned the office, I swept and vacuumed! haha! It kills me to do any more than that. Today we had a guy come give us an estimate on fencing. Holy cow!! didnt think it was going to be that expensive! WOW!
We head up for conference and my baby shower next Thursday! So excited! I will definitely have some more pictures to post.

This was our date night a few weeks ago with Fondu!

The cutest pajamas in the world!

We have also started our "date night" again, last week it was my turn to plan, so I decided to make spaghetti and do FONDU!!! it was soooo yummy! This week it's Mikey's turn and I think he wants to go see "Julie and Julia"? Has anybody seen it? It looks awesome!
Anyways thats whats going on with us, oh I did have another Dr appt yesterday and things are looking great!

Washington trip

Wow! It's been a busy last couple weeks! Im just going to post a bunch of pictures in no particular order :)
Last Thursday I met Mikey up in Portland to spend some time with family, Joann picked us up and headed strait for the camp ground, there we met Lisa, James, Mady, John, Annalee, Zayne and Steve. We had a great time! We went fishing friday and only caught one fish, but it was fun anyway! Steves boat broke down in the middle of the reservoir and we had to tow him back :(
Other than that it was awesome! That night we went back to Vancouver and met up with Steve Kulin and his daughter, had some yummy pizza and went mini golfing. Saturday we were able to just relax and spend some time sitting in the sun around the pool, it felt great! That night we had a B-52 from the Burrito house!! So good! Monday we headed to the Oregon coast with Gram and Grandpa and had a great time! It was gorgeous weather! We got some awesome salt water taffy!
We headed home on Tuesday, I flew to Phoenix and Mikey ended up in Vegas. We finally got another car yesterday! It's a 2005 Toyota Sequoia, so awesome!
I had another ultrasound today, he is looking awesome! The sonographer said he has very long legs :) Imagine that! I got it recorded this time so hopefully Mikey can teach me how to put it on here for you all to see.
Well like I said it's been crazy these last 2 weeks...we are heading up to Utah September 10th to visit my family and take family pics! YAY!
